MIXED MARTIAL ARTS

What is MMA?!

Mixed Martial Arts is a high-impact combat sport that allows athletes to compete at a high level using a variety of fighting techniques, including stand-up fighting, striking, and ground fighting. The sport has grown exponentially in recent years and has exploded around the world. But what exactly is MMA? This is a topic that will be discussed here..
Mixed martial arts, or MMA, is a blend of several combat sports that allow athletes to defeat their opponents within specific rules and using specific techniques from several different martial arts styles, including boxing, judo, Muay Thai, and Brazilian jiu-jitsu. The term MMA is also used to describe any modern style of martial arts that incorporates techniques and techniques from several martial arts sports. This type of introduction is directly related to the name of the sport and refers to the “style” of MMA, which includes a combination of stand-up, clinch and ground fighting. The main purpose of this article is to introduce MMA as a “realistic sport” and not to describe the mixed martial arts that are usually used as “style” of MMA in sports environments with minimal rules.
MMA is a sport that combines all aspects of combat. In this sport, the fight is controlled and led by a referee and a jury, and contrary to popular belief, MMA is not a rule-free sport.
Fighters must be skilled in both standing and ground combat. They must be skilled in both environments, as MMA is a combination of other martial arts.
An MMA fight ends when one of the two participants is knocked out or when the time runs out. If the time runs out, the referees decide which fighter is the winner. Also, if a fighter violates the rules of MMA, he may be disqualified and declared the loser.

General Rules of MMA
In a match held in Brazil in 1951, Masahiko Kimura, a Japanese judoka, faced Helio Gracie, the founder of Brazilian jiu-jitsu. This match is considered one of the first famous mixed martial arts fights. In this fight, striking the testicles, poking fingers in the eyes, poking fingers in any of the body's pores, hitting the throat, hitting the vertebrae in the back of the neck and back, pinching, and kicking an opponent who is unconscious or downed were considered fouls.
Mixed martial arts competitions are considered a new phenomenon in the martial arts arena, but looking back, the influences of Val Tudo, which was held in Brazil since the 1920s, and Pankration, which played a significant role in this field, can be seen in the roots of mixed martial arts. In the 1960s and 1970s, the idea of combining different martial arts disciplines gained a lot of attention, especially the influence of Bruce Lee on fighting. He was idealistic that a great fighter needed to develop and combine different martial arts skills and should be able to fight in any style. This attitude was later put into practice by Dana White, the founder of the UFC, and became mixed martial arts fighting.

MMA athletes are often considered the strongest and most technical athletes because they usually know several techniques from each martial art. The more an athlete masters a martial art, the more successful they will be in MMA..

Is MMA without rules!!
If you are one of those who are familiar with MMA through illegal fights and underground betting that are usually shown in Hollywood movies, you are very wrong. Any betting and gambling between fighters and between the organizations organizing these fights is illegal and considered a crime, just as it is against the rules of sports, for example, in professional football or any other professional sport. The MMA presented in movies and real MMA are very different from each other and the foolish idea that the source of income of fighters is through betting and haram is also completely wrong. Most of the revenue of MMA organizations comes from selling legal broadcasting rights to television and online sports networks, and the rights of fighters, like other professional athletes, are predetermined, contractual, and formal.
Professional MMA organizations, the most famous of which is the UFC, set stricter rules every year to protect the health of fighters and the popularity of the sport among young people. To the extent that this sport has taken the title of the most popular sport in terms of fan growth in the 21st century...
Participants in MMA fights compete in a ring or a fenced area, and wear padded fingerless gloves but no shoes or headgear. Fighters can punch, throw, kick, or grapple their opponents, and strikes can be made standing or on the ground. However, headbutts, finger or thumb sticking in the opponent's eye, biting, hair pulling, and strikes between the thighs of any kind are prohibited. Elbow strikes from above (directly), strikes to the throat, and strikes to the spine or back of the head are illegal, as are some attacks on an opponent who is on the ground, including kicking or kneeing the head. If a fighter violates a rule, the referee can issue a warning, deduct points, or, if the foul is deemed intentional, disqualify the offending opponent and end the fight....

Victory in MMA is usually achieved by knockout, submission (locking the opponent's joints and neck until the opponent taps the mat or the fighter's body or verbally surrenders), striking the opponent, or ending the fight at the discretion of the referee, doctor, or one of the corner men (a teammate or trainer at the side of the mat) as a sign of submission...
If the fight does not end in any of these ways, the winner is determined by a three-man panel of judges at the side of the mat after the fight time has expired using the 10-point boxing system, with the winner of the round usually receiving a full 10 points and the loser receiving 9 points or less. According to the rules of professional MMA, non-championship fights consist of three five-minute rounds with a one-minute rest period between each round. Championship fights are also held for the same duration but in five rounds.
The referee and matside judges are appointed by the respective national sports commissions, which also conduct medical and drug tests on the fighters.

Belt Levels (MMA) in the World Martial Arts Federation In Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) belt levels are used to indicate a practitioner's level of skill and advancement in a particular martial arts discipline or MMA system.
However, the MMA belt systems in the World Martial Arts Federation are different, as they have a standardized global system and a planned, professional training.
White Belt: A white belt is usually the starting point for beginners. It represents a beginner level of skill and knowledge in MMA. White belts often focus on learning basic techniques, basic movements, and building physical fitness.
Blue Belt: After spending a significant amount of time training as a white belt, practitioners may advance to a blue belt. At this level, students have a solid foundation in MMA and have gained a deeper understanding of fighting techniques, strategies, and principles.
Purple Belt: A purple belt is an important milestone in an MMA practitioner's journey. At this stage, individuals have honed their skills and are considered intermediate level practitioners. They have a broader knowledge of striking and grappling techniques and are often expected to be able to use them effectively during a match or tournament.
Brown Belt: Brown belts are highly skilled practitioners who have reached an advanced level of proficiency in MMA. They have a deep understanding of various martial arts techniques, fighting strategies, and excellent physical fitness. Brown belts are often the seniors of the class themselves and play an important role in mentoring and training less experienced students.
Black Belt: A black belt represents the highest level of achievement in many martial arts disciplines, but is less common in MMA due to the relatively recent development of the sport. Some MMA organizations or gyms may adopt a black belt system, while others may have alternative methods of recognizing the highest level practitioners, such as awarding professional titles or certificates of achievement.
